Evolution

Once upon a time, we lived like this ...

Slowly we have grown, to the point where it was time to leave our high chairs.

And start a construction project!

To form the next evolution of BabyYarnoz.

However, the more things change ....

BabyYarnoz Yoga - The Kids Book!

So, the other day, Mo took Kemper food shopping while Daddy cleaned the house. (Twizzles were napping)

Turns out food shopping, also meant toy shopping!!!

Mo got KP a new book as well.

This on might be a problem for The Editor.

"Daddy, you will do Yoga!!!"

This is KP helping The Editor do a pose called "the Butterfly"!!!

This is The Editors subsequent pose called "The Groin"!

And , last but not least, The Editors final yoga pose "Dead Daddy!"

Thanks Mo!

Guest Blogger: Flat Stanley!

Hello BabyYarnoz Universe.

My name is Stanley.  I would like to thank the Editor for allowing me to write and post on his amazingly wonderful blog.  It truly is the cutest, funniest blog I have ever read!  I am definitely a subscriber now!

I was sent to Wilmington, NC by Ella McIlwain and her class in Tampa, FL.  Thank you Ella and Ms Anton for allowing me to come and experience southeastern North Carolina.

As you can see from the map, it is a fair distance from Tampa.   When I arrived, I was greeted warmly by the elder sister, Kemper.  She was very excited to see me, and took me everywhere.  She even let me play with her twin siblings, Mila and Court.  They were lots of fun too.  We did lots of things around their house, including read, color, play games and go for walks.

Hamilton the dog liked me too... I think!
Wilmington is pretty close to the beach, so we could have gone any time.  However, it was too cold and windy for most of the time I was here.  Plus, I'm paper, so I don't think it is a good idea I got wet!

Being close to the water, Wilmington is a pretty nice little town.  Lots of people come here to visit, and be tourists.  It is one of the major shipping ports in NC, so there are lots of boats.  We went downtown once, where the Cape Fear river runs through downtown.  It was nice to see the boats and all the people.
I got to pile into the Yarnoz' minivan, which is the main mode of transportation for all of these crazy kids!  Since they are so close in age, they all have to have carseats!  Do you guys have to sit in carseats too?

This time of year here in Wilmington is really pretty.  All the trees and flowers wake up and are super pretty.  Wilmington has a big festival every year to celebrate this.  It is called the Azalea festival!  I got to see that too.
(Unfortunately, the Yarnoz' forgot to bring their camera with us to take photos.  It seems it is hard enough to not forget the kids themselves!!!)

Well I'm having so much fun here, I can't stand it...  I am not sure I can come back!

Take Care,

Stanley

It's Potty Time???

Or is it?

Things Overheard During DaddyDaycare

The experience!

KP: "Mila, do you want to go dance with the Prince?"
M:"yeah"
KP:"daddy, we're going to dance with Prince Court and get married!"
E:" ok?"
KP:"Court, do you want to dance?"
C:"No"
KP:"OK., Mila let's go find another prince!"
... If it were only that easy...

10:22
E:" green is my favorite color"
KP:" mine toos"
E:"Kemper I thought your favorite was purple"
KP:"well, daddy, it is. I like purple, pink, white and green"
E:"wow. That's a lot of favorite colors"
KP:" yes daddy. I know"

10:33
M:"where'd mommy go?" For the 100th time this morning.
E:"to work. At the hospital!"
M:"oh" goes back to business coloring.
...
M:"where'd mommy go?"
E:"she left us alone, washed up and by ourselves, while she jetsets across Europe with a massage therapist named Sven, who looks a lot like Coco. "
M:"oh" goes back to coloring.
M:"coco go!"

2:15
As daddy and Kemper are getting ready to water the flowers
KP:" is your bottle heavy? Mines is"
E:" No. Daddy's bottle is light. I have big guns, remember ". (Flexing)
KP:"Oh yeah. Mines is not heavy either. I have little big guns too". (Flexes)

4:30
Mila, in a moment of "airing out", which consists of living sans diapers...
M: "daddy, I'm cold". Holding up a sweater.
E: "Mila, look at yourself you have no pants on!"
M: looks down, then to sweater, then to me... "Uh huh. I'm cold"
E:" So you want the sweater?"
M:"uh huh. Pleeeease!"
E:" ok". I put on the sweater, still leaving her to air out.
M:" thank you daddy!"
E:" you're welcome!"

Breakin' Out of the Morass

So, here in BabyYarnoz Universe, we're in a massive funk.  Huge!  If you haven't noticed by now, we're down in the dumps.  The Terrible 2's (I like to call it the Terrible 2squared) combined with the F-ing 4's has been brutal.  I mean we are drowning here.  We wake up at 6, drag ourselves out of bed, medicate ourselves with coffee/ibuprofen/Tylenol and go about the day.  Then the evening is medicated with booze/food to get through dinner and naptime.... Whew... By 9pm we're out.

There is no room for blogging!  Until now.

Nothing gets the BabyYarnoz Universe back on its blogging feet like a crisis.  A massive one.  And nothing gets the DQ more fired up like a public health crisis!  **itch itch**

Well, both have come home to roost in the GM!

Well, you say, what can be so horrible, so dasterly, to get you out of your blogger's block.  It goes a little something like this....  **scratch scratch**

This past Saturday evening, we were struggling through another evening of bathing the kizzles.  Finally we get the twizz down.  I drudge downstairs to clean up the kitchen from the latest round of dining-al-messy.  DQ and KP go off to get on their PJs.  **itch, itch**

Then I hear the call, "Miiiike"  "Get up here".  It wasn't one of those playful tones.  This one was business.  Something was wrong.  I drop the kitchen sponge, and race upstairs to find the girls in the bathroom.  Awww... KP had an accident.

"Nope...  Look!!!"  **itch itch**

DQ holds up a little small white particle, almost like a grain of sand.  Hmmm....  Then I see KP scratching her head.... OH GOD NO!!!!  " Oh yes!" shrieks DQ.

Lice!

Holy moley!!!  It couldn't be.  We had a "scare" a year ago with the Pizz.  We found something that looked like Lice and we were picking it out for days.  We de-loused here and disinfected the whole house.  Only to be told later by her teachers, that it was just dirt.

"Babe, it's probably just dirt!"  I said, hopefully.
"Nope.  Look at this!!!".  She gently bends the Pizz' head and shows me other eggs.  "I even saw a live one that slithered back down the follicle"

I instantly vomited in the back of my throat!  Egads!!!  I starting itching myself.  Damn, I lay on her bed all the time to read books!  OH MY GOD!

Poor KP looked terrified.  "My head is scratchy"  For how long?  " A couple of 3 days".... Oh no!!!  WE'RE DOOMED.  This was no false alarm, this was full blown public heath crises.  My head really started to itch.  I thought of all those little lice crawling on my head.  I vomited again.

Then I was off.  Tasked to go to CVS to buy up some industrial strength mass quantities of Lice shampoo.  (We already invested in the comb from last year!)  **itch itch **  I get to the store and buy two "large bottles" of shampoo.  This would be barely enough to get through the crew once!  I raced back home and we began the de-lousing.

Oh did that go on for a day!  Everything was stripped down and off.  Thrown down into the laundry room.  The dryer even got fired up.  (No time for energy conservation, when we have to melt those little eggies.  Screw this portion of the environment!!!)  KP got shampooed and rinsed and combed and inspected and combed and inspected and trimmed and inspected again.  She finally got to be ~9 exhausted.

But there was no rest for the weary.

Sunday AM started with Twizzle de-lousing....  as noted with exhibit A, B, and Coco.

Some people tolerated it more than others.  DQ had to go off to work, so I was tasked to washing everything in our house.  Every sheet, item of clothing, pillow... anything remotely possible to contain lice eggs.  The dryer every groaned with delight...

So now, we wait.  Hopefully the f-ing insects are all dead.  We have to keep combing and combing and combing the eggs out.  Then re-shampoo in 7 days.

Argh.

The best part of all this... the Kizzles got sent home from "school" today.  Hmmm...  that's the only cesspool... er place... that then got this from.  Seems they now have multiple kids with lice (as was brought to their attention by the highly esteemed Dr Lewis MD MPH)

So now we wait.  Eagerly combing and re combing.  Anxiously watching the Kizzles actions to see any signs of scratching.

And I can't wait to do this again in 7 days.!

Although I think the medicine made my hair fall out!
