I Think We're Alone Now...

As I sit down in the rocker in the Nursery 2.0, with a Twizzle in a bouncer at each foot (man, my calves are going to be huge!) the DQ2.0 taking the first sleeping shift, and the Pizz off dreaming of carbs!, I take some time out to remember the past 6 weeks that were.

I will speak on my own, by I know the DQ2.0 will support me when she reads this..., that there is no way we would've survived this without the aid of some very special people.

And, now I will promptly call them out!  (and no... Hoff... you're not one of the them!)  In chronological order!

The Mo-Pair!

Wow.  Seriously, what can we say.  She was lured here for a two week "emergency backup trip".  Who would've known that that would be the D-Day!  Mo was amazing, fully taking over the Pizz duties, cooking for us, cleaning up the GM, and even doing our laundry!  She was so solid, she even wrote a manual for the GM and it's daily functions.

Somehow, with all this activity, I cannot find any pics of Mo with the Twizz.  There are plenty of the Pizz, including this one, which is taken on the way to school.  (Hopefully when the car was not in motion!)

We've tried on many occasions to lure the Mo to become our Mo-Pair, but alas... she has a life.... damn!

Best Moment with the Mo:  Seeing her plan these elaborately tasty meals for us (and the Pizz the next day).  I mean these were awesome!  But I digress...  She would put so much effort into the Pizz food, and then when she got the Pizz' report card and saw that she ate "a little". ... she got offended and vowed to do better!

La-La

La-La was next, overlapping with the Mo-Pair and learning the ropes from the one who invented the ropes!

La-La was solid.  A workhorse.  She would stay up nights, alternating the DQ2.0 and myself.  Even let us go out on a date!  Whew!!! (we went to get pizza!)  Then stay up during the day, and keep the DQ2.0 from going insane.

She took the chef's hat over, and ran with it.  Setting up some tasty meals.  She also took away the Pizz on the weekend to the Aquarium, and learned firsthand that the Pizz is deathly afraid of scuba divers.  She also did laundry and learned about the subtle intricacies of the G-diaper system.

Best Moment with La-La:  learning that she used her 10day stay as the moment to stop smoking!

Ita and Wowo!

Last, and certainly, not least came the Ita and Wowo show!  and man what a show it was!

They took over for the outgoing La-La, and stepped right in.  There were some significant difficulties at first, with the Pizz being deathly afraid of Wowo.... to the point of not wanting to be in the same room with him.  But in time, and with the power of the Belly!  (all Yarnoz' involved), the Pizz softened her stance... and soon came to search out the Wowo!

It also was an interesting dichotomy on the new big screen TV, seeing the Libyan conflict on CNN and Fox News battle it out for air time with Baby Signing Time!  Let me give you a guess as to who won that one!

As what has become standard operating procedure, our laundry and food was prepared for us.... with some very tasty selections of wine.  This, with our ongoing sleep debt, provided some difficult moments staying awake.  And, of course, the meatloaf was splendid!  (especially adorned with vintage roasted potatoes and mixed veggies.... just like the old days!!!)

Best Moment with Ita and Wowo:  The Pizz, with her growing belly and very little else, has been put on a mild carbohydrate restriction.  Boy, does this baby like carbs!  Oh wow!  Two nights ago, Ita came into the living room, holding a raw potato, and asked if we wanted baked potatoes for dinner.  The Pizz, on seeing this glistening potato, dropped her TV remote, forgot about Baby Signing Time, lept off the couch, and chased Ita back into the kitchen, screaming for the potato!  Wow!

...

So, now, as of today, our helpers have left.  The village that helped raise the Yarnoz family has exited stage left... Now we are in it for the long haul.

There is no way we would have survived the atypical preeclampsia, 10 days of NICU, the initial pains of dueling baby home telemetry monitors, the struggling with different feeding schedules, the nonstop GERD, the frakking "loose connection" alarms, the all-nighters, the eating, the Baby Signing Time, the Cardiology calls, the "baby calls", the diaper rash from hell, the squeaks, the grunts, the snortles, the poots, the baby that poops all the time, the baby that poops every other day, the ASD, the "Pig in a Blanket", the Brazilian consulate!, the runny noses, the 6 month sore throat, the 3 day sore throat (damn I'm a wuss), the frustration, the let down, the sauce, the strive to gain 6 ounces!, this life.... without the purely, utterly amazing help from those above.

We here at BY Universe love you.

(oh, by the way, I am signing that I am crying!  Can you feel it!?!)
