Bath time fun

Sometimes they are too annoying for words, but then there are times like this:

From the files of Edna's iPhone

We've had a lot of childcare in the past 2+ years, and recently our second au pair, Edna, left us to return to her home in Mexico.

So, when we happened to look over her phone, we found a secret stash of cute and hilarious pics:

Mila at peak cuteness
Court at peak cuteness

The Pizz and her devotion to the Biebs (who always eats his chicken!)

Mila grabbing Court's ears: caught in the act

The Green Machine goes Green(er)

Those of you familiar with the BY Universe know that we lovingly call our abode the "Green Machine."  Named originally after the green carpet that coated the floors upon purchase, later we decided that we would really go "green."  So what ensued was/is three years of painstakingly crunchy updates.

So far, this has included an eco-friendly kitchen, new tile and bamboo floors, new double-paned windows, new skylights, geothermal HVAC, and solar hot water.

This time around is a new master bathroom (where else can we potty train the twizzles? This stuff takes space people!!) with a calming zen feel.  Not to be outdone in the green arena, all of the bathrooms are getting new dual flush toilets and low flow fixtures.

And, the piece de resistance, a solar PV system on the new rubber roof!  Details to follow!

The Debriefing

Well, the weekend is over. No kids were harmed in the making this weekend. No dog was harmed in the making of this weekend. The Editor was not harmed in the making of this weekend. It wasn't a monumental weekend in terms of fun. It was just weekend of survival.

But I did learn some things about myself and my kids.

These kids are hilarious. They love each other and each other the same time. At one moment Mila is hugging Court the next they are down and out wrestling.

I thought court would be a pushover/wussy boy. But I have seen him turn from Jolly oh into murderous tiger. The look of hatred and bloodlust in his eyes when he turns to swing at Mila is impressive and scary at the same time.

Mila is the loudest baby I've ever heard in my life. She will scream at the top of her lungs and when you think she's lost a arm, she has just dropped her sock.

Kemper is cute and great and smart. Unfortunately, she has absolutely no coordination I can trip over her own 2 feet. She is a super sweet goofball.

This signing time stuff actually does work.

Unfortunately, we watch it at three hours a day I think a total of 20 hours this weekend.

Thank God for Benadryl. Whoever develop the children's formula should be owed a gajillion dollars

Court actually walked good chunk of this weekend, up to about 10 steps maximum. It's only a matter of time.

I really think Mila is Charmaine's child. Yesterday she peed on the floor, and then when she realized what she did, went and grabbed a towel and came back and wiped it up.

It is crazy. At one moment you are about to rip our your hair and then at that time one of them does something super cute. Example: I'm holding Court who is screaming and then I feel little fingers on my toes. I look down to see that Mila has grabbed my sandal from across the room and came to try to put it on my foot.

She was actually fascinated by my sandals. I kept throwing around the room and she would go retrieve them and try to put them on my feet.

There was a lot of screaming this weekend. By every living thing in this house.

Court is very in touch with his emotion. He is cute and cuddly and a large hugger. He also is scared very easily and cries of the drop of a hat.

Somehow my sanity is still intact. Hopefully my blogging instincts will return.

The DQ in Hotlanta with Auntie NeyNey

While the DQ's away....

The Pizz loves to color
In case of emergencies...
Topless dining anyone?
Shh! Don't tell the DQ! It's moooovie time.

Show me your belly!!!

(this was during lunch time!!! "server failures!")

The Wheels are Beginning to Fall Off

Can't get motivated. Just relented and gave Pizz "her iPhone". Thankfully the Twizz are hibernating.

This could be a painful next 8-10 hours. It's also rainy/overcast outside, so stuck in the GM.

Not sure what shape it will be in when the DQ returns!!!

The Life and Chaos!!!

Well, overnight was an adventure. Just when I thought it was ok and I was going to have a restful night....

The man upstairs had different plans

Torrential rains.
Lightning.
Thunder
Power outage.
Neurotic dog (but freshly cleaned from earlier Sat)

Yup. No sleep for Editor

Fortunately the Kizzles slept through it all. Whew! Also, almost as fortunate, all the kids were congested and snotty. Leaving me no choice to use Benadryl!! (Editors note: I in no way endorse drugging your kids. But, if there is a medical reason for it, by all means, use the liquid nector of the gods!!!!)

And yes, we are all in our undies....
Finally, around 2am, everything settled down. Whew

Until 6am today!!!

And down the stretch we come

Peakaboo!

Turtle down!

Survival Time!!!

Now until bedtime. May the schwartz be with me!!

Balls!

Escape! To Fit for Fun!!!

Hiding from the scary monsters!!!

Break time!!!

For those of you cannot tell what is going on, the DQ is away on a trip. It seems she has a "bachelorette party", which just happens to be in Atlanta. She's currently enjoying much relaxation and debauchery. Meanwhile, the editor takes one for the babyyarnoz universe. We will see if I survive. This weekend blog should be a blow-by-blow basis of my trials.

(ps. Any amusing stories this weekend will probably be waaayyy over exaggerated to maximize the guilt factor and build up my trump card for future Editor f-ups.)

On cup #2!!!

Oh boy.

While DQ is away!

The Kizzles do not sleep!!!
