The week that was.... We've survived two whole years!

This was a happy and sad week at BabyYarnoz.

Happy, firstly because we had another visit from Lala!  She breezed in and breezed out bearing King Cake for the weekend, but it was super-nice bonding with the Pizz, who loved every minute.  Happy also for me, since I had a side-kick while the DQ was working.  We made it to a restaurant to share lunch with her though.  By noon I was pretty beat down (not sure what the weird thing is next to my eye... maybe yogurt flung in my face at breakfast?)

Happy, because the DQ and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary!  We exchanged gifts: for me, a published copy of the blog from last year (the fourth edition, can you believe it?).  For her, a bag of skittles (cause you know she wanted that more than diamonds or something...) I'm such a stud sometimes.

Happy because the Twizzles turned two!  Add this to the "hard to believe" list for this week.  The DQ was sure she wouldn't make it through those first four months or so, and look at us now!

We did try to have a little 'party' - for lack of a better term - for the Twizzles.  Which basically consisted of making pizzas in the oven and serving cupcakes to a few neighborhood kids and their parents.  Did we mention we asked them 2 days ahead of time?  I don't think Party Planning was inherited in the DQ's genome alongside the obsessive-compulsive organizing gene.  But it was pleasant at least.  The Twizzles didn't understand the point but didn't care because there were cupcakes involved.  The Pizz was appalled that they weren't getting more presents (poor child - she hasn't yet come to realize her mother's fear of accumulating too much stuff).

The DQ had a million things to do on her week 'off,' and one ended in a new addition to the world of Green Machine patio furniture.  The Twizzles seemed to like it....

Happy, too, that we've started potty training!  The Twizzles have no interest in it but will at least sit down for a few minutes.  Coco likes to read and Mila likes to squeeze my fingers already.  There is an end in sight!!!  Big Sis just sits there like the potty-trained role model she is.

The sad news comes from Tampa: my grandma passed away after 102 years on this planet.  Wow!  She was almost 100 years older than the Twizzles!  She died on Ash Wednesday after months in Hospice (maybe she was just waiting to die on a Holy Day...), and is finally at peace.  We'll miss her but she's living the Good Life now.  The DQ told the Pizz that my grandma went to live with the angels and the Pizz said, "That's good because angels are nice peoples."  Enough said.
